It has been a busy month for all of us. Chris and I quickly became use to caring for a newborn and Madison keeps us on our toes. From feedings, to diaper changes, bath time, to play time, each day brings a new adventure (and schedule), too! Our first outing was a trip to the doctor’s office for a weigh-in, followed by a visit to Madison’s great grandmother’s house. At the two week check-up, she weighed in at 10 pounds and according to the birth weight chart, she’s in the 94th percentile. That’s pretty good! She has had many visitors over the last few weeks from friends and family and we’re looking forward to more family visits in November.
Madison continues to amaze us with her growth and development. From birth, she has been able to grab our fingers (she has a strong grip) and support her head. She can turn her head quite well from side to side while on her stomach, recognize and turn toward sounds, and track objects with her eyes. Her eyes are still blue-gray and appear to change from blue to brown in certain types of light. My prediction is that they will eventually turn brown, but we’ll just have to wait and see! Madison is a happy baby and we can make her smile and laugh easily. We are very blessed!
