The house is complete!  It turns out that moving and getting settled takes a fair bit of time and that is why there haven’t been any pics of the finished house.  Here they are without furniture.

Getting Closer! Carpet, Shutters and Electric

Sometime in the past two days, the electric company finally hooked up our electric meter so we have lights in the house.  Whoop!  The carpet has been installed as well as the window shutters, sprinkler system and some landscaping features.

The planter in the corner of the back fence.

The planter along the back wall of the house.  This will have river rock in it.

The protective paper on the living room floor has been removed.

The kitchen view, sans the refrigerator, with lights on.

New stairway railing.

Shutters on the front of the house.

It has been quite awhile since our last post.  This is the time in construction in which there is a lot of communication between the builder and us but little visible change.  All the little touch ups and finalization are being done.  This includes fixing the drywall, trim, paint and all that little stuff that doesn’t show well in pictures.

What does show well in pictures are the new appliances.  They were put in today.  Have a look.

More Floors, Fans, Lights and Stairs

A lot has happened since our last post.  Let’s get right to the pictures.

The stair railing.  Carpet will go in last on the steps.  The green tape strips on the walls are markers for spots in the drywall that need to be fixed.

We chose wood flooring for the family room.  It’s currently covered with protective paper but we peeled back a section to take a picture.

Now on to lights… The master bathroom fixtures:

Kitchen pendants and family room ceiling fan.  How’s that for a good camera shot!  The green arrow points to drywall that has to be fixed.  In the top right of the shot is a the smoke detector with the protective “shower cap” in red on it.

Entry way hanging fixture.

…and finally, the formal dining chandelier.

Lots To Do, Not Much Time

It’s a busy evening so there isn’t time for many words.  We’ll just put up some photos for you to enjoy.  Oh, and we have a firm closing date!

Here are a few pictures of our new cabinets, counter tops and floor tile.  The counters are protected with a plastic sheet.  There also needs to be some serious dusting when it’s all done!

Master bath vanity (no faucets yet).

Second bath, also without faucet.

Driveway and sidewalks!!
